Chapter 11: Under The Water

When I felt the light enveloped me, I was teleported above water.

I fell towards the water with a big splash.

And because I’m a golem, I quickly sunk down. This is bad! Falling into water so suddenly, please give me a break.

I frantically squirmed but I can’t rise. I steadily sank. I can’t breathe, I won’t float.

Eventually, I landed at the bottom.

[Log: Due to the effects of 【The Enlightened One】, panic was forcibly extinguished.]

Aahh, will I die again?

10 minutes later.

Fufufu. Fortunately, golems can’t suffocate. I don’t need to breathe so I will not die!

[Log: Due to the effects of 【The Enlightened One】, excitement was forcibly extinguished.]

Incidentally, I don’t know if I’m either in a sea or in a lake. By the way, seas are not necessarily salty. But there’s no point in thinking things using Earth’s common sense now.

Although I can’t float, I can still walk around the bottom. The golem’s body does not need food and it won’t need to breathe so it’s probably alright. I’m a bit worried if I’ll rust but I can’t do anything about it. Let’s just walk on aiming for land.

I don’t know which way it is but I’ll try to walk in a single direction.

3 days later.

Yup, I don’t feel like I’m nearing land at all since I don’t know the right direction, it can’t be helped. I don’t know which way the goal is but as long as I keep walking straight, I’ll find land one day.

Incidentally, the circumference of the Earth near its equator is equal to 40,075 km. So if my speed is about 4 km/hr, I can walk the Earth in 1.166 years.

So, assuming that this world is the same size as Earth, walking in the same direction would let me arrive at land in less than a year. Let’s do our best.

A month later.

I continued to trek the bottom of the water without rest for over 1 month. Just like having an internal clock, I can somehow gauge the passage of time.

Various things happened during the last month. As expected, it really is another world. There was a huge sea anemone, a large group of crabs the same size as me, and the worst of them all was a dragon.

Occasionally, dragons will come due to being attracted by the shining body of the Metal Golem. Rather than dragons, it might be better to call them sea serpents. Those guys are seriously big that even the smaller ones were over 10m in height.

Using the skill 【Interpretation】, I think I can communicate with them but unfortunately, I don’t have the means to convey my thoughts. I don’t have a mouth to speak after all. But thanks to 【Interpretation】, I can understand the meaning between their roars.

The first Sea Serpent.

「Gwa, gwau!」 (So shiny! Let’s bring it home and leave.)

The second Sea Serpent.

「Gwa? Gagwa!」 (What’s that shiny thing? Let’s pick it up and bring it home!)

The third Sea Serpent.

「Gagwa, Gagwau! 」 (I would not fall for such a trap. You try to take it home!)

Though, every single one of them is stupid. It seems that the sea serpents had a home. I wonder if they built their nests individually or they all live collectively.

They’re getting annoying so I retaliated with a punch. The damage I dealt to the door was a measly 28, but over 140 were given to the sea serpents. Is the door just sturdy or is it that the sea serpents were too weak? Which is it?

The sea serpents got scared and ran away after being hit with a single punch. Honestly, they’re quite annoying.

    1. It would be a surprise because the chances aren’t the highest of coming to a port town just by walking aimlessly especially in a world with monsters because even less towns

  1. Imagine if someone found a sea serpent’s home and they’re bagging the treasure and they suddenly see a golem’s face and it goes “What you looking at!?” and then just covers it back up and quietly leaves.
