Chapter 22: A New Title

Pinky and I walked towards the royal palace. We didn’t encounter a single citizen as we passed through. Since I’ve felt gazes, they might be inside their houses. Are they afraid of the fishmen?  It’s sad to have a town without people.

「From this point onwards is the main roads. If we followed this road, we can reach the royal palace!」Mantle-wrapped Pinky braced herself and spoke to me.

It’s understandable. It’s because she was trying so hard since the fishmen attacked.

We sneaked into the main road using the shadows of houses. Fishmen were patrolling in groups of five. Further ahead, a group of fishmen gathered around a sea serpent. Perhaps, the fishmen who escaped earlier were trying to intercept me.

I did a gesture to go alone and for Pinky to stay here. Pinky reluctantly agreed.

In the middle of their patrol, the fishmen went pass the serpent and continued towards the main road. I will try not to be caught by a pincer attack.

The mermaid country’s roads were made of sand. And because it is not paved, the clatter of footsteps would not be heard. Even so, I will not try to deliberately clatter around.

Instead of street lights, glowing jellyfishes were placed on the road at regular intervals. The glowing jellyfishes were placed inside a transparent ball made from something I do not know, swimming on it nimbly. It’s clearly not plastic so is it glass?

When the gentle light of the jellyfish strikes my metal body, it let out a pale shine. The shine of my metal body could not be completely hidden.

Oh, it seems that the shiny loving sea serpent has already noticed me. The fishmen were startled when the sea serpent suddenly jerked. And now, it’s heading towards me.

The fishmen who are in the middle of their patrols were surprised but they hurriedly crossed the road.

The sea serpent that approached me rushed and opened its mouth.

「Gagwau, gwaugwau!」 (It’s sparkling! A glittering object!)

Indeed, sea serpents liked shiny things no matter what it is. I calmed myself down and fired a one-two punch towards the serpent’s face.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Hitting is getting monotonous. I do not wish for pointless killing. There is only a single serpent left which is currently at the palace.

The five fishmen that were patrolling hastily regrouped with their comrades. As I was walking towards the direction where the fishmen gathered, brushing pass by the serpent’s corpse, I thought. If I swung this, could it be considered as a weapon? I had no other choice but to kick and punch to attack. This is a close-combat attack. If I had magic, I can have a long-ranged type of attack but unfortunately, I currently can’t use it.

If I can use this 6m corpse, it would be convenient and I won’t have to punch and kick. Well, if that’s the case, let’s try lifting it. There’s no problem on its weight. I held the tail and shook it towards the road. The water resisted for a moment, it’s kinda hard to move.

Ah, the ball containing the jellyfish was swept away. Hah, I caught the ball. Clink, crack, shatter.

Sacrifices are common in a battle. I fought a deadly battle against a sea serpent that is called the gang of the sea. A little wreckage is inevitable.

I raised the sea serpent and aimed for the fishmen. The fishmen who tried to approach me was all swept away. This is it. Don’t be nervous.

Hey hey, the pitcher is nervous you know! Is that all, is that all!? Can you stop me with just that? I’ll crush you all like a bug!

Tuning in, I ran towards the fishmen and swung the serpent in a big arc. And because I brandished it with a conical shape, the surroundings wasn’t damaged. I will not repeat the same mistake.

Hey hey! Swish swish!

Hey hey! Swish swish swish!

The fishmen were thrown back and forth. If I had a facial expression, I am definitely making a cocky look. I’m glad I was a golem.

Hey hey! Are you all scared? Swish swish!

And so, the fishmen retreated. The guy at the back could not stand it anymore and finally ran away. I am still in the mood. No one can stop me!
